Infamous 2 Looks Crazy; Cole Looks Dumb

This is new gameplay footage for Infamous 2. Wow! This game looks official. The cinematic gameplay action reminds me of Uncharted, except you know.. Cole can throw lightning bolts. Speaking of Cole, why the redesign guys?! I liked original Cole's style. Leather jacket, sling pack, cargos; all things I would personally wear if I were granted with super powers and was kicking the shit out of baddies across town. It says superhero and anti-hero at the same time! Cole's new style is too bland. He looks like Nathan Drake in gym clothes. Lame.

Enough talk about Cole's fashion faux pas. Enjoy this awesome gameplay footage from the new Infamous. Damn, as if there weren't enough games I haven't played that I should, add the original Infamous to the list. It keeps piling up!

Halo Reach, In Space! (part 2)

In a previous post, which we discussed Halo Reach's E3 trailer, my pants felt a little funny after seeing the clip of a space fighter battle from the game's campaign. Good funny. While that isn't the only reason why I'm excited, it's a pretty big contributing factor. The multiplayer demo was solid enough to sell me on a buy, but the space fighter battle might be a section of the campaign I'll have to play over and over.

It reminds me of good old air combat games on the systems of yesteryear, a genre which I feel hasn't been explored and built upon on these latest gen consoles. There have been a few releases which try to recreate the fire old flying shooters had, such as Snoopy Flying Ace, the H.A.W.X. series, Warhawk, et al, but I'm waiting for a very intense and deep space shooter. Until then, here's the Halo: Reach excerpt.

Super Mario Bros. Crossover

What would you give to blast through the mushroom kingdom with the testosterone driven protagonist of Contra? How about down-thrusting some Goombas with link? Super Mario Brothers Crossover is an ingenious flash game that allows you to do just that. In the latest update, you can choose from Samus, Ryu Hayabusa, Megaman, Simon Belmont, Bill from Contra, Link, or plain old Mario. And if you have no idea who any of those characters are, you are already a failure and this game will probably be way too hard for you. So back off, pal. Whichever character you pick, you get to play with their classic theme music, which makes it even better!

Fans of classic gaming, mash-ups, and time killers at work will want to check this out. So go ahead, click the following link to get your ass kicked in some 8-bit gaming!

Shoe-Ryu-Ken!

Here at Otaku But Gangsta, we have a soft spot in our heart for sneakers. Especially Nike Dunks, which come in a variety of styles and colors, so no matter who you are or what you like, odds are there is a Dunk that fits your personality (or wardrobe.) As an owner of about 10 pairs of Dunks myself, I was pretty excited to hear Nike is releasing a series of Dunks inspired by Street Fighter characters. OBG reader Geeyo, who's sneaker knowledge would put most to shame, tips us off on Nike's Street Fighter Dunk lineup, which includes Ryu and Chun-Li colorways. Unconfirmed but completely plausible are also M. Bison and Ken colorways as well.

My favorite of the bunch are the Ryu hurricane kicks, the tattered Swoosh is absolutely spot on to his bandana! And I also needed a new pair of white base sneakers. No confirmed release date on these yet, but we're thinking 3rd-4th quarter 2010. Which character would you like to see get the Nike Dunk treatment? Let us know in the comments.

E3: Fable III

Peter Molyneux talks a good game. A master of hyperbole, his games are always cutting edge, revolutionary, on the door step amazing and uncharted video game territory. While the Fable games have never lived up to the Peter Molyneux Hype Machine, they've always turned out to be very good games. Fable II's simple three button fighting system proved to be fun as hell; easy to learn, rewarding once it's been mastered. Lionhead Studios has itself a nice thing to build on, and while Fable III's E3 trailer doesn't show much, it doesn't have to for you to know that the game has some promise.

I can't wait to have a threesome with a whore and my neighbor's wife. Then shoot the whore in the head. And watch as my neighbor's wife's tummy swells with my child. And laugh as my neighbor realizes the child isn't his and divorces his wife. Then stab my neighbor with a falchion, and move into his property to live with his widow. After she births my child, I will raise him to be as evil as I. And after incessant nagging, I will incinerate her with a fire spell, leaving my bastard child as I venture to a new town to complete the vicious cycle again while my son begins his own life of debauchery. Oh, Fable.
